Prominent Canadian independent journalist, Aaron Gunn, has selected Nanaimo to host the world-premiere screening of his highly anticipated “Vancouver is Dying” sequel documentary, “Canada is Dying”.
The documentary features only a small number of hand-picked Canadian cities, and Nanaimo is featured because the current conditions on our streets clearly exemplifies the unintended consequences of several decades of failed Provincial and Federal social and health policies. During filming, Aaron was struck by the strength, resilience, and resolve of the citizens of Nanaimo to tackle these complex problems and work together for a safer and healthier future for our city and community. This premiere promises to be a constructive community building event, with Nanaimo rising like a phoenix from the ashes as a city of compassionate and determined people.
This event is a joint fundraiser for non-profit society, Nanaimo Area Public Safety Association, and to help Aaron Gunn recover production costs of the documentary so that he can continue his independent journalistic work.
Film is 70 mins. followed by Q&A with Aaron Gunn & Panel
